The under 8's at May & Baker are certainly a bonkers bunch but have been impressing again this season. The side has now been together for 2 years and from humble beginnings turning up to festivals with just 3 players, they put two teams out today to face visitors Stanford for the first meeting between the clubs and Bakers first home game of the new campaign.
The first games saw a Bakers team with plenty of attacking flair. With ball in hand Bakers done well to create space in the Stanford defence. The team have also come on leaps and bounds with their support play, with all players contributing to the tries score with Miles and Caelen making some good darting runs to set up their team mates. Teddy-Jack, Tom and Noah all crossed the white wash for the red and blacks. Bakers supported their attack with some brave defending and some great determination with multiple try line tags on some strong Stanford attacks. Teddy - Jack was awarded man of the match for the first game.
Keen to follow on from the opening game, May & Baker greens took to the field. Despite Bakers having two teams today both were filled with quality players and was hard to pick between the two. The greens started in fine form with some great tagging from Bobby who followed on from a strong performance last week. Bakers looked strong with the ball in hand and attacked from all angles to score some well worked tries with Danny, Pioter, Owen and James all touching down for the hosts to wrap up a great mornings rugby, even tough the weather was a little overcast.
